Zoloft lawsuits abound after birth defects

Infants whose mothers took the antidepressant Zoloft may have an increased risk of persistent pulmonary hypertension and may be at risk for other health problems. Mothers who took Zoloft also show an increased risk of having babies with birth defects.

Numerous individuals have filed suit against Zoloft’s manufacturer, Pfizer, Inc., claiming that the company did not inform them of all risks associated with the drug. The company openly publicized the possibility of suicide attempts after taking the drug, and doctors have been aware of these risks for some time. However, the same attention was not given to informing patients and doctors of the increased risk of birth defects to newborns.

Some critics believe Pfizer and other manufacturers intentionally muted information regarding potential damage to newborns so pregnant women would remain on the drug.

If you or a loved one took Zoloft while pregnant and experienced effects such as these, you may be entitled to compensation.  Submit a complaint using the link below to have us review your prospective case.
